they will just worm their way out of it,.
I see us and many other religions/faiths/cults, whatever label preferred, losing their tax free status. It'll happen, just a matter of time.
It'll be a sad day for all religions. You'll see a lot of consolidations and mergers just to stay afloat when that happens.

glad to know this site is here.. i would not be writing this if it were not 2014. i was a ministerial servant and regular pioneer who left the jehovahs witnesses back in 1995/96, around that time.
i left suddenly, didnt fade away, just left when something clicked one day in my head during the morning shower and made me realize this religion wasnt true.
The JW religion I lived when the 1975 debacle happened is completely different!
I observe that it's so much more relaxed, up with technology, people for the most part left to make their own decisions according to their conscience. Nowadays it takes an act of congress to get somebody disfellowshipped, and reinstatement happens so fast too!
The JW religion of today is quite tolerable and comfortable. Of course I can only speak of my experience and observations in mine and surrounding congs.
Okay, gotta go get ready for my 2-hr Sat morning preaching work!

be reasonable with regard to how much education to pursue.. as mentioned earlier, education can help prepare your child for responsible adulthood.
(genesis 2:24) but how much schooling does reaching that goal require?.
Do not be misled by 'old' Org stance; today's savvy JWs have opened up their eyes widely to the fact that a high school educ will not prepare anybody to pay the never ending bills/taxes and carry on a household with dignity.
In my cong there are a group of youngsters (like 7 or so) going to college, although still living at home because these colleges/univ are within commuting distance; sons and daugters of elders, ministerial servants, and regular publishers. All is well with them thus far. However, it's quite the equilibrium task because going to college is very demanding and so is being a JW in good standing; balancing both is difficult, but not impossible.
Even a few older ones are taking classes online and at the local Community College to further their chances at a better job. I see that trend more and more among the young JWs in mine and surrounding Spanish congregations. It's good.

I've heard that the medical profession has given accolades to the WTBTS for pushing them to look for other methods of treatment when dealing with JWs.
Dr. Laura read in her talk show some time ago a letter praising the JWs for making the medical profession look for other alternatives.
I've also heard people that aren't JWs refuse blood treatments and then thank the JWs for giving them the liberty to do so while still having the opportunity to receive excellent level of care.
I've been shocked to say the least when I hear these expressions of approval!

I have never heard of such a thing! Mine and surrounding congs have gatherings all the time, for any reason, and when we have no concrete reason we get together 'just because'. We have such a blast together!

you seem to have to drill down several layers before reaching christadelphians.. is it a recognised idea among other peoples/religions?.
Doubt we are the only ones. Google it. We paint it so extremely attractive, though!

some may remember the time when the private study edition of the wt wasn't to be made available to outsiders, and the df'd.. now, with the recent boe letter, sept 1, 2014, it specifically states that jw.org is making the km available even for df'd individuals.. do you sense a new trend developing?.
Like in any other Org, you have your orthodox types and your moderate types; for some time now, moderates outnumber fundamentalists, so stuff continues to change, and so much at such fast pace! It's great really!

i just turned in my resignation letter to my congregation a few weeks ago.
last week, 2 elders called me to say they received my letter and would like to meet with me to discuss my concerns.
in my letter, i said i had found out about all the child abuse cases that were going on and that i didnt agree with their policy of disfellowshipping.
Unless planning to isolate yourself, any issues found within the Org will be found anywhere else we all imperfect/sinful humans are.
